Dan Bar-el

Dan Bar-el is a children’s author, storyteller and educator living in Vancouver. In the past, he trained and worked professionally as an actor and playwright in Toronto and later began writing and performing sketch comedy across Canada. When he moved to BC, he became a school-aged childcare worker and later studied to be a preschool teacher. Working with children reawakened his love for children’s books. For the past six years, he has been travelling to schools and libraries across the country, giving presentations, storytelling performances and writing workshops. He has several picture books and one graphic novel due out in the next few years. He is currently working on a young adult novel.

Dan has been involved with CWC for the past few years, mentoring at a summer camp and a winter camp as well as leading a full 15-week Dream Workshop last autumn in Coquitlam. He is thrilled to be teaching this course again this fall in Vancouver.
