Rachelle Delaney

Rachelle Delaney is a Vancouver children’s author, freelance writer, and creative writing teacher to students of all ages. She has an MFA in creative writing from the University of British Columbia and a BA in creative writing and environmental studies from the University of Victoria. Rachelle has taught children's creative writing classes at Place des Arts and the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, and adult classes at Capilano University and Vancouver Community College. Her freelance work focuses mainly on science and nature writing, and she has published many articles and book reviews in Canadian magazines and newspapers.

Rachelle was recently awarded the Canadian Author’s Association 2010 Emerging Writer Award. Her first novel was also a finalist for a 2010 BC Book Prize and the 2011 Chocolate Lily Awards.

Rachelle tries to pass on to her readers and students the same awe she feels about exploring the world.
